Overview

123 is a pupil information system (SIS) with an extra emotional and social layer - that sees the whole pupil. It was founded with the mission of enabling teachers to engage better with pupils, and parents with their kids’ studies -making the pupil-parent-teacher communication triangle transparent and frictionless.

The Needs

Pedagogical system to connect between 3 personas. The goal is to learn about the pupils on Emotional/ Social/ Functional with interlace the user in the system with relevant information in real-time and to get the option to create simple use for pedagogical operations with digital learning

The Personas

The system has three main persons: theacher, parent and pupil , all three of them need to connect to one another and each one has different needs from the system.

The Challenges

Three different users

One of the first challenges was dealing with three different users - a Teacher a Parent and a Pupil. Each user needs a different interface to suit his use of the system and it has to comply with the pedagogical side.

Emotional and social wellbeing

To collect information from kids about their emotional and social wellbeing, through digital means, which kids are more comfortable with. Easy and intuitive to use, it gives teachers instant, actionable and comparable insights about every pupil which can be used to make changes in real-time.

Simple prosses to save time

Digital processes are abbreviated for teachers help to users to work more with the system and on the underhand to give good information and data in a simple way.

The next step to understanding what problems we are interested in solving, I built a flow diagram that will help us make sure we have a solution for each of them.

In Practice

I found that at the current stage of the system the most important thing is to connect the teacher to the system and help him/her to simplify the process each day.  The teacher needs to receive the relevant information regarding the pupil in order to know how to handle the situation in real-time.  I have created a flow to help the teacher to be in control and to be able to report the parents if and when needed.

At a beginning of a lesson, it takes a lot of learning time and this is the reason he/she needs short flow and thus to be more committed to the system.

Get important and fast information - Flags

Teachers don't know exactly what if their pupils arrived to their class or not, and when (before or after the class)  in order to be able to connect between the emotional and the social he/she needs to be exposed to relevant information immediately.  We decided to use Flags

Report in real-time

To help the teacher to able to report in real-time on important events and to connect with parents in the middle of the day and not to save it for the end of the day or to forget, we have found that it's important to all sides.

The Impacts

In this project, I am constantly contacting the users (teachers) and the results we see immediately. Facilitating a user at the beginning of the lesson and flooding the relevant flags in real-time have contributed to more user logins and more intensive activity.
When we were able to fulfill the basic need of the primary user, we were able to reach the other users as well as the parents and pupils.
